Big business, long under pressure to show that they are improving their environmental performance, has made some important changes to reduce impacts, and is developing expertise in reporting on the changes. A number of large companies have been producing environment, health and safety reports, but a number are pioneering corporate sustainability reporting.

Eco-Efficiency Indicators for Business
The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy has collaborated with a number of companies to produce a workbook on how business can report on eco-efficiency. The indicators report on such factors as energy use, waste generation and efficiency in water use.
